Perfusion Technology
Perfusion Technology is a specialized paramedical course that focuses on operating advanced life-support equipment, especially the heart-lung machine, during critical surgeries like open-heart procedures.
Perfusionists play a vital role in maintaining blood circulation, oxygen levels, and organ function when the patient’s heart and lungs are temporarily stopped during surgery.
This course provides in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, extracorporeal circulation, medical equipment handling, and critical patient care.
Course Duration
- Bachelor Degree (B.Sc. Perfusion Technology): 3–4 Years (including internship)
- Diploma options may also be available (2 Years)
Eligibility Criteria
For Degree (B.Sc. Perfusion Technology):
- Must have completed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized board
- Core subjects required: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)
- Minimum marks required:
- 50–60% (General Category)
- 45–50% (SC/ST/OBC) (varies by institution)
